Character powers:
Jules is a hybrid, meaning that she's part human and part monster. The more general abilities that come with her hybrid heritage are:
• enhanced strength & endurance
• accelerated healing
• enhanced speed & reflexes
• resilience against exhaustion and sickness
Their skin is warmer to the touch than that of a human. Additionally, most monsters and some hybrids have particular abilities. Jules' is contact-based emotional manipulation and empathy, to a degree where she can try to judge if a person is 'good' or 'bad' - which isn't always easy. She can't read specific thoughts, but she can definitely pick up their emotions loud and clear, and dark, dangerous things within them, be it bad things they've done in the past, motivations or a squiggly demon. This ability allows her to read and warp emotions as she sees fit, but she needs physical contact - not necessarily flesh-on-flesh - to be able to read or manipulate anything.
Monster blood is a pretty messed up thing, and while having it does grant powers there are also significant downsides.
• need to consume human flesh
• need for violence
• risk of losing yourself to the monster
It's not simply the need for flesh, but the violence of the act to quell the monster part of them. If a hybrid tries to deny their monster part, then they get very sick and weak, sometimes hallucinate - they may even go berserk and temporarily lose control of themselves, causing more damage than would have occurred otherwise. Jules need is massively watered down from the monsters and, indeed, most hybrids; monsters eat people all the time, and more concentrated hybrids may need to eat people once a month, Jules 'only' needs to have them three or four times a year.

(This requires contact, and allows her to feel what they feel and discover what kind of person they are. She wouldn't know specific thoughts, but she can definitely pick up their emotions loud and clear and dark, dangerous things within them, be it bad things they've done in the past, motivations or a squiggly demon. )

(She uses this to tip fights to her advantage, overwhelming her opponent with emotions or twisting what they feel to turn it against them.)

(This would only happen every few months, unless she was attacked and endangered in such as way that she went temporarily berserk or we devised some other reason. If you are interested, there would be no need to log this, it's gory and not everyones cup of tea, even if the character stuff leading up to and following might be fun. Conversely, I'd be happy to log it if you wanted! Near-misses are also okay.)

I don't think she'd have the compulsion to eat him, because she has a strict moral code that she applies to her attacks. However, emotional manipulation and empathy investigation are very much things that she is prone to applying to people. The pining and guilt would be of particular interest of him, and might lead her to guide conversation that way, if you'd be up for it?

primarily? guilt, always guilt! he acts happier than he is, most of the time, and much of his internal emotions involve him fighting a constant battle with his conscious. he doesn't care much about himself, cares a lot about other people, and kind of likes to lose himself to action and not focus on emotion at all except where it suits him.

I think guilt and pretending to be happier than he is would make Jules feel really terrible for him, because that is basically the story of her life. They seem to... actually have a lot in common, except that Jules has a lot of feelings all the time.
I think she is less likely to attack him because of his guilt, but it could be an interesting possibility to explore! Although actually I think she would... probably sleep with him and treat him as some she wanted to look after rather than attack him 8| oh julia. Guilt and repentance is a big deal for her because she really, really hates attacking people, but if she was really desperate or ever lost control of herself with the monster aspect, then I think this could be a really interesting thing. I kind of would love Remy to learn about her monster side, or her powers, even if he doesn't learn about the monster right away.

esp the talking about powers part, i love doing threads like that. if she ever asked him about his eyes he'd probably just tell her what he is, he really isn't secretive about it! and he'd love to hear about what's up with her because people-as-monsters is something he's got experience with.

Nitoh is a pure soul. He's kind of an idiot, in that way. His major emotions are a drive to see and experience new things, an overbearing optimism, and a sense of self-importance. He is a generally selfless person, but that part is done more out of force of habit than anything. However, inside him and not even very deep, there dwells an ancient magical Phantom known as Beast Chimaera. Beast Chimaera's major motivation is hunger, and a distant sort of amusement at the goings on around him. He could be classified as morally evil, though closer to a neutral evil than anything. Chimaera induces Nitoh to eat other Phantoms to gain their mana to power himself, meaning that the net end is fewer evil Phantoms.

He is not intensely emotionally vulnerable, but if you manipulate his emotions towards sadness or despair, he's likely to resist it fairly effectively. If not, there's a chance his Phantom could eat him. On the other hand, pumping up his ego would very effectively send him off balance.

She can be careful about how she uses emotional manipulation, but if he's ever sad or hurting she'd try to re-centre him, if that makes sense. I am really intrigued by the potential for this!

Khisanth: lots of negativity! Annoyance to outright anger, tons of greed, a load of superiority and haughtiness, and probably a whole lot of feelings of confinement and restraint if she's in her human form.
Damian: Definitely not what he seems to be feeling, which is usually nothing but pleasant amusement. Under that there's mostly just a lot of calculation, sometimes cold and sometimes just thoughtful.
Vanadi: OVERFLOWING LOVE AND FONDNESS AT ALL TIMES. He's in love with like half of Exsilium, and just moons after people in general. Also lots and lots of lust, but that comes second to the lovey crap. There's also a lot of sadness and self-pity, he's basically saturated in it, but he uses the love to cover it up for himself.

Opposites! Khisanth would be super startled by anything positive, Vanadi hating would be... well actually really alarming (especially to him), and Damian feeling anything too strongly would throw him off a lot, because he spends a lot of time suppressing all that — especially anger and fear.

I... don't know if it would work on Galadriel? She has her own mental shields up pretty damn high, to the point Sauron couldn't see into her mind. Canon never mentions how emotions fit into this, so...IDK WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Wow, Galadriel sure is a shining beacon of goodness and light. She's not perfect and she's done unpleasant things in the past, but yeah. Mostly ~LADY OF LIGHT~.

That's generally what I was thinking and given that, in canon, completely non-psychic people are able to get that impression, I thinks she probably will at some point.
And sure! It's not so much something that I'm super excited to do, personally, so much as if it would make sense for it to happen I'm down for it... if that makes sense. But I love being kept in the loop anyway.

If yes, what would she feel? he tends to front at being cold - and he is very hyper-rational - but he tends to feel things very fiercely and deeply. surface emotions would be controlled, and there is something close to contentment these days, but at his core there's a lot of undealt with grief, lost love, terror, anger, loneliness, regrets, and guilt.
Can she use emotional-manipulation on your character? yep, but if he became aware of it he'd get really uh - he has terrible past experiences with powers manipulating his brain (tl;dr his life is a lie) so he'd likely react HORRIBLY to it. but i don't mind playing around with that!
